Some Santa Clarita Valley residents have seen an addiction to video games spiral out of control; this is when they should turn to Desert Solace for help.
Desert Solace provides rehabilitation services for Santa Clarita residents, as well as Americans from across the country, who suffer from addiction to behaviors like gaming, gambling, sex and drug use.
“Video game addiction is becoming increasingly common among American adults,” the Desert Solace website reads. “With the increased availability and access to video games more individuals and their families are being impacted by destructive, compulsive gaming.”
Those who compulsively play video games for long stretches of time, even when it is a detriment to their lives, may qualify as addicts.
This rehabilitation center, located in the Utah desert, was founded in 2011 and provides a clinical and judgement-free place to face an addiction head-on.

“Gaming disorder was first incorporated into the World Health Organization’s International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) in 2017, and presents as an individual’s impaired control over their gaming,” the Desert Solace website reads. “A gaming addiction can overtake someone’s life, as well as cause pain for the people close to them.”
Modern video games have increased the likelihood of addiction, as they often offer the chance to spend money which can lead to addictive behavior related to gambling.
This Utah addiction center removes its clients from the digital world, allowing them to break out of their destructive behavioral patterns and face things for the first time.
